    A great opportunity to partner with UNCC to complete the 2-year transformation of an outdoor play space.  This project will be recognized nationally and locally because of UNCC's involvement and its impact on the children in our community.

Project #C7 - Cannon YMCA Share the Harvest Community Farm

Cannon YMCA's Share the Harvest Community Farm provides produce to local food pantries to support those in need throughout Cabarrus County.  Our primary Spring plantings will occur on April 22nd and April 29th.  On those dates, we will also be performing other tasks, such as staking tomatoes and weed control.  We'd love to have you out to assist!

Gloves and kneeling pads will be available; however, you are welcome to bring your own.  All necessary tools will be provided.  Due to the nature of the farm work, we encourage volunteers to dress weather-appropriate for outdoor activity and to apply sunscreen and/or bug spray at your discretion.

Day and time of project - Saturday, April 22nd 8-11am and Saturday, April 29th 8-11am

Volunteers needed – 12 volunteers (for each day)

Project #Crisis Center1 - Spring Beautification

  • Plant flowers in 10 8-10 inch pots.
  • Spread mulch around trees and natural areas.
  • Trim crepe myrtles.
  • Prune knock-out rose bushes.
  • Items to be donated - flowers, soil, mulch (3048 sq ft - 2 " deep = 20 cubic yds.  3" deep = 30 cubic yds.)
  • Please bring planting supplies and trim/prune tools.
