Guidelines and Eligibility Criteria for CCM’s Programs

Financial Assistance

Financial assistance clients will be seen on a first-come, first-served basis. To apply for financial assistance:

  • You must be a resident of Cabarrus County or live within the Kannapolis city limits.
  • Your crisis must be verifiable.
  • Your utility or rent must be past due.
  • You must bring the past due bill with you.
  • You must provide proof of residence and a picture ID.
  • You must bring documents showing your income and expenses for the past two months. Examples of income documents are paycheck stubs or bank statements.  Examples of expenses include cancelled checks, bank statements or receipts showing payments you have made.
  • You must have already applied for assistance at the Cabarrus County Department of Human Services.

If you meet these guidelines and wish to apply for assistance at Cooperative Christian Ministry, you must come to the CCM Crisis Center at 246 Country Club Dr. NE in Concord and speak to the intake specialist.  The intake specialist will assign qualifying applicants a time slot.  Once the current day’s available slots are filled, we will not be able to accept any further requests until the following day.  The Crisis Center opens at 9am, but be advised that a line often starts forming much earlier.

Food Assistance

The Crisis Center Food Pantry is located at 246 Country Club Dr. NE in Concord.  Applications for food assistance are taken Monday, Tuesday and Thursday from 9am to 3:30pm and on Wednesday and Friday from 9am to 12 noon.  You may access our pantry once every calendar month.  Due to the large number of clients we are seeing, it is advisable to come early in the day and be prepared to wait for as much as an hour or more.  Coming late in the day may result in being turned away due to the number of clients waiting.

  • You must be a resident of Cabarrus County or live within the Kannapolis city limits.
  • You must provide proof of residence and a picture ID.

My Father’s House (MFH)

  • MFH accepts two-parent families and female-headed households with pre-adolescent children (8th grade and younger).  They must be physically and psychologically capable of living on their own.
  • We do not accept single adults.
  • All adult applicants must complete a telephone screening process with CCM Housing and Shelter staff and a subsequent interview, including a Family Assessment with the program manager.
  • All adults must pass a criminal background check prior to acceptance into the program.  They must be employable (do not have to be currently employed), free from substance abuse and be committed to making positive changes in their lives.
  • All family members must agree to abide by all program rules and requirements set forth in our Resident Handbook.
  • All adults in the program must agree to a credit report and will be mandated to provide proof of income and money saved while in the program, create and adhere to an established budget, participate in life-skills training, and other activities.
  • We are NOT an emergency shelter – MFH is an intense six-month program.
  • Families in need of housing should contact our reception desk at 704-918-1269.
