Education and Support Services 

 Bridges Out of Poverty

This FREE four-week training provides practical, yet compassionate, strategies for addressing the mental models of poverty, middle class, and wealth, and the “hidden rules” between the different classes of people. It also discusses the pitfalls and barriers faced by all classes, the patterns of generational poverty, and the impact poverty has on people’s lives in order to improve relationships and outcomes.

Location Needs

  • Room large enough to hold approx. 20-25 people (maximum 30) with tables and chairs
    • Four (4) bi-weekly sessions: Tuesdays from 9:30 – 12:00 noon
    • Each session is approximately 2 ½ hours long
  • Restrooms
  • Wi-Fi connectivity
  • TV or projector with audio
  • Electrical outlets
  • Trash can(s)

Meal / Snacks Sponsors Needs

  • Provided by church members/volunteers for approximately 30 adults for each in-person classroom session – OR
  • Funding for snacks
  • Drinks, snacks, plates, cups, silverware, napkins

Getting Ahead

Getting Ahead is an incredible learning experience for individuals ready to move from just-getting-by to getting ahead! This FREE sixteen (16) week training approaches economic issues from a holistic perspective. The sociological and psychological causes of income challenges are explored from behind a strengths-based lens. Participants create positive personal change by learning about the reality of financial burdens, the benefit of social connections, and the importance of HOPE.

Location Needs

  • Room large enough to hold approximately 14 people with tables and chairs
    • One session per week: Tentative – Tuesdays from 10:00 – 12:00 noon
    • Each session is approximately 3 ½ hours long
  • Separate room for childcare – up 20 children of all ages
  • Restrooms
  • Wi-Fi connectivity
  • TV or projector with audio
  • Electrical outlets
  • Trash can(s)

Childcare Needs

  • Separate room where childcare will be offered for participant families (on-site)
  • Volunteers to provide childcare, activities or entertainment for children birth to 18 years

Meal Sponsor Needs

  • Prepared by church members/volunteers for approximately 40 people (including the adults and children) for each in-person classroom session
  • Funding for catered meals
  • Access to kitchen facilities
  • Dinner if on a weeknight or breakfast if on a Saturday morning

Drinks, food, dishes, cups, silverware, napkins

Financial Assistance Program

  • Donate money and gift cards as a financial supporter

Do you have a special skill, interest, knowledge or hobby you’d like to share with others? CCM’s Education and Support Services team (ESS) is always looking for enthusiastic instructors and new class ideas that help meet the needs of learners of all ages, stages, abilities, and interests.

Our staff is here to help answer your questions and help you refine your ideas. You are at the core of our community-centered program, and we will do everything we can to support you and make your class a success for all. Bring your energy and talents to the classroom! We don’t require a teaching license, only that you have a passion for communicating concepts in an organized and easy to understand manner. We want to offer a curated list of the best teaching tools available, simple, easy to learn curriculums, and free live classes.  Come partner with us!
